Elijah is witness to a time when Israel was fallen into idolatry under a wicked king and his foul wife Jezebel. Elijah is a witness against the leadership in Israel and those in the nation pretending to serve God but are really servants of the enemy. Just a thought concerning their qualifications as witnesses.

Great discussion. I have an idea that supports Enoch and Elijah as 2witnesses: I have come to view Enoch as the prophet/witnesses to the nations because he prophesied and taught the peoples before Israel was a nation. There are requirements to being a witness in the Torah. Yeshuah said the final generation would be like the days of Noah and Enoch is a witness of that time.
